The Boat
The Izarra is an evolutionary refinement of the celebrated Twister series designed by Kim Holman in the 1960s.

Secrets
Although its origin is linked to competition, the Izarra was conceived from the ground up as a friendlier, more balanced version designed for cruising , with shallower lines and a smoother hull.
Built by the Gallart shipyard for a commercial pilot and sailing enthusiast, its robust structure, weight distribution, and well-proportioned rig make it a boat that sails dry, steady, and smoothly , even in rough seas. At 8.90 meters in length , it's a classic, small in size but big in personality.
Despite its cruising profile, the Izarra has surprised many racers by outperforming clearly sportier boats, even in one-on-one duels. Its success is due to a perfect balance of cruising stability, maneuverability, and noble construction —qualities that connoisseurs of 20th-century British naval architecture will recognize.
The Izarra not only honors the Holman & Pye legacy, but also demonstrates that elegance and efficiency are not at odds with simplicity. Today, she sails as a floating testament to an era when ships were designed to last for generations.
